NTM vid-watching challenge, Days 5-7
This is my final post for the new-to-me vid-watching challenge--and I'm doing three days in one, so lots of vids!

My first set of recs for today comes thanks to stage6, which I have only recently explored in any detail. There's a wealth of Smallville vids on there, many of which I had not seen. I was particularly impressed by these vids by planetelara:
- Stop: a feverpitch-fast gen action vid for Smallville--these are surprisingly rare. The action was really tightly controlled and spans an amazing amount of footage.
- My perfect enemy: think you know who this one's about?! ;) Actually it's from Lex's pov, re. Clark, but it's a highly effective Clex enemies vid. There should be more of these!
- Who knew: I have a soft spot for Pink, and also for Clana these days, so this vid really charmed me. Despite the familiarity of the song, it really felt made for these two by the end of the vid, and for Clana fans it builds in lots of great moments.
- Never far behind: a Chlark vid, which I found very true to the source--meaning it's shippy from Chloe's perspective but heavily grounded in the friendship. It uses lots of cute moments in an original way.

Open Your EyesOpen Your Eyes</a> is 'new to me' for two reasons: the vidder, di_br, is new to me, but so is the fandom--this is the first Pushing Daisies vid I've seen. Sad but true! Open Your Eyes lived up to my high expectations by piling on the super-cute where Ned and Chuck are concerned. Waah, I miss Ned's dorkiness so much. :(

While at di_br's journal, I also checked out her Tenth Doctor vid to Map of the Problematique. It's a very dark, angsty look at Ten, and I appreciated that.

My final 'new to me' came about because I got to thinking 'you know what I've never seen?! A Bollywood fanvid!' Those movies are MADE for fanvids, surely?! So I googled and found this:
I don't feel like dancing. The quality's not great but it truly does not matter, for it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The song is perfect! It made me cry with laughter which is what all good Bollywood movies achieve. My favourite part is the spinning, head-banging guy in the blue cap at 2.10. I don't know why. :D

Now I get to go check counteragent's LJ to find other recs...

These vids are fantastic....great quality and a really beautifully accurate meld of lyrics and footage. I usually can't last 30 seconds through Clana vids....Who Knew has now become my favourite (it helps that I really like Pink), Perfect Enemy a great illustration of the complexities of the Clark/Lex relationship. I couldn't choose between Never Far Behind and In Loving Memory for my fav Chlark vid....but the image of Clark with a single tear is just hard not to feel! I was blown away by the footage editing required for Stop....where do people find the time to make these vids?? Seriously I'm glad they do though!

Thanks heaps for the recs well worth the look and the dl of the appropriate player. Can't wait to see more from Lara.

They're great aren't they?! I'm glad you enjoyed them too--I was really delighted to discover such a talented Smallville vidder I'd never seen before.

And yeah, Clark with a tear gets me every time!

Stop was seriously impressive--it would have taken a LOT of work to get all that footage. Having said that, I know personally how addictive vidding is--if you love it you do it. :)

It's a not so secret joy of mine. I used to be obsessed ... my friends called me the encyclopedia when it came to films and gossip. LOL

Now, not so much. But yay for having a bollywood friend on my flist! :D That's fun!

Hee! If only it was always that easy to conjure good vids! I'm so glad you liked it--did you check her other Clana ones--there's a French song and one to 'Addicted' as well.

*nods* re. 'My Perfect Enemy'--it was a very original Clex vid.
