Seriously, you know that they put the 'as a brother' there to get it past the network. That scene was as gay as it could possibly be and still be aired. What with the Lex holding Clark in his arms and the insane eye fucking and the Clark's face helplessly crumpling in response.
When Michael spazzed out in his farewell interview about the final shot of Lex being absolutely brilliant, I didn't really think it would be of Lex HOLDING CLARK IN HIS ARMS. And I didn't think Lex Luthor's final dialogue would be 'I love you as a brother, Clark, but it has to end this way. I'm sorry.'
Whenever I think the gay is gone forever, it comes back redoubled. :D
