Ah, dammit!
Well, we had a good run, so I don't feel too poorly about my team's exit from the World Cup. And if we had to lose to anyone, losing to Italy was a good choice. Pity about Kewell, but I'm still proud of the Aussie boys.

(And to anyone that saw my cryptic post just before, now deleted--apologies, the coffee hadn't kicked in yet!)

I feel like leaving a cryptic message of my own... "The gray squirrel has found the acorn" or some such thing. We need codes!

*breaths with you over here, too* You are the best, K. For reals.

Hee! Grey squirrel! Yes, codes are awesome.
I'm trying! I just had to confess my hopelessness to the state editing society... I'm also having a meltdown about some work I'm meant to do for them. It's all very frightening!

You're a good friend. *hugs*

Ah, hell. I keep misspelling "breathe" don't I? What is wrong with me?!? I am not unintelligent, I swear!

You are good friend, too. *hugs back*

Damn, I hate when I miss the things people post and I'm not supposed to read.

Sorry about your socceroos. I was thinking about you today (when the signal from Germany went dead for like 5 minutes and my dad was freaking).

Mm. I'm trying really hard not to be cranky because I've been cranky for days already and it's getting boring!

I love the Socceroos. I got home this morning and I was so sad for them. So proud of them.

When the game started and there was no picture for like the first 2 minutes I was freaking out.

I hope somebody kicks Italy's butt in the next round. I mean that nicely. ;D

I know! I am sad too, but I'm trying to be happy for them because they have come so far and they are seriously still the heroes of a nation.

Heard that the World signal was down for the first minutes; luckily our German networks had their own cameras there, so I didn't missed anything.
Though I wish I had missed the Italian game. That was so horrible. And so typical for the Azzurri. They play like idiots for at about 92 minutes and 7 seconds before it's over, the ref gave them a penalty. I'm still bitchy because of that.
You should've seen the people here. Of course lots of Italians here, but a lot of Germans felt in love with the Socceroos. And when Totti made the goal, my godchild was even crying.
He was so for Australia, waving his little Aussie flag and screamed with the Australian fans.

Better team had been Australia and you all can be so proud of them. They made it to the last 16, which is fantastic.

So, Italy meets Ukraine in the quarter finals. If the Ukraine can't kick Italy out then, Germany will do it in the semi-finals. Promised :D

And I'll let my Australian flag in the kitchen window!

Yes, the signal was out! And yeah, the game was a heartbreaker. That is so cute to hear about your little godchild! Wow! I have heard that many Germans took the Australian team to their hearts, but I haven't heard such a personal story about it before. That's so great!! I think in some ways we have some attributes similar to the German team--good team work, courage and persistance. Italy will meet their match in the semis, I think! ;-)

And I'm so proud of my team! It was so tough for us to even get to the World Cup, and we did really well. I'm determined not to be sad, however unfair it was. Because the team are still heroes to us!
