Michael Rosenbaum DVD-athon!
Break out the popcorn! It's the< Michael-a-thon! Yay! I had to wait eons for this due to having to get Rave Macbeth from the Phillipines but it was all worth it in the end. We included Sorority Boys and Sweet November tonight. I have Poolhall Junkies to watch tomorrow...

Rave Macbeth
Supacat's already said everything that needs to be said about this movie as Shakespeare here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/supacat/

All I have to say can be summed up as: Michael: Eyes! Eyebrows! Hot! Shirt...open! Guh! Also, dancing! (I have no idea why but I found his waltz with Lydia one of the hottest parts of the movie: go figure)

It's such a goddam shape that he was at his hottest in such a tragic movie. And I don't mean tragic in the Greek sense. The scene where it actually rains blood and everyone keeps raving really amused me and the bathroom had excellent set design and cinematography. Ok, that's all I can think of that was good about this movie except MICHAEL. Who is my hero.

Sweet November
Dear god! That man is so hot. I officially watched the Keanu-Brandy scene 5 times before forcing myself to move on. I am staggered once again by Michael's commitment to putting a hundred per cent into every performance. He was sexy, cute, funny, charming and believable as a transvestite. Found myself hoping he will be cast as a transvestite again at some stage in his career!

Sorority boys: boys will be girls special
This extra feature on the tv was like the movie in miniature: Michael stealing the show once again with his capacity to channel his female side and make Adina so mesmerising. He was the only one of the three lead male actors who was able to make their female identity not obviously an act. It's just fabulous that he can retain such integrity as an actor in such a role. Also: he played basketball in character? *LOL*

Yay for Michael! He makes life so great. I sleep happily tonight...

I still haven't seen Sorority Boys, as it was never shown in theaters in France, and will never be released in DVD.
Is it good enough that I should order it in the UK ?

Ummm... well I think so, yes. Michael is mesmerising in it. The movie itself is not the type of thing I usually like - the humour is too crass for me. So there are moments (when MR is not on screen) when I was thinking 'this is SO bad'. However, Michael puts so much into his character, totally steals the movie, and makes me cry with laughter. It's an incredible transformation on his part... so for that reason, maybe yes?

I'll think about it then, thanks.

The only MR movie i've seen is Poolhall Junkies, and he's damned fine in that.

I want a mike-a-thon!!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find Rave MacBeth? I lost an ebay auction for the DVD, region 0, at the last second last night *still fuming*. I've seen the one's from the Philippines on ebay but I'm not sure which ones are legit.

I'm trying to plan my own Michael-a-thon for post midterms. Always a good night!

I got mine from revolver037 and it was fine. You might have to check the regions though... I think mine was an Asia-Pacific region DVD (which is cool coz I'm in Aus but might not be ok for you?)

Have you read thamiris' review of Rave Macbeth? Her words are total porn, I tell you.

Oooh... that's so good! She's amazing! I hadn't known she'd written a review so thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. She nails the description of Marcus!
